Shri Agarwal’s brilliance has shown over the horizons of RITES multifaceted activities in infrastructure and transport sectors and taken it to enviable heights. Agarwal had been conferred with Stevie International Business Award 2008 in the Management Category for the ‘Best Executive in Asia (Sub-Continent, Australia and New Zealand)’ at a function held in Dublin, Ireland, on September 8, 2008. Institutionalised in USA, this Award enjoys international recognition as is evident from the list of past awardees which included companies like British Telecom, Dow Jones, Daimler Chrysler AG, Vodafone, etc
Mr. Agarwal has carved a niche for its Public Sector Unit and leveraged its visibility in the international forum. The Economic Times Ävaya Global Connect Customer Responsiveness Award.
RITES has won the Economic Times “Avaya Global Connect Customer Responsiveness Award” for being the India most customer responsive public sector undertaking. The award presented by the Economic Times recognized the best customer responsive initiatives, policies and practices of the company deployed to enhance global competitiveness, by carrying out all activities with “customer” as main focus. This is the mantra for retaining and serving existing customers and acquiring new ones. This award calls for re- engineering our processes and business designs so as to delight our customers and benefit all stakeholders”.
Hon' ble President of India gave national award to Shri. V.K. Agarwal, MD
Shri. V.K. Agarwal, MD, received CDC National award from Hon' ble President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at a function organized on October 12, 2004. The award was honoured by Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) to RITES for providing "Excellence in Consultancy Services for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., (DMRC) Project" for the year 2004.

SCOPE EXCELLENCE AWARD - 2005-06
RITES Ltd., has won the prestigious SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management - Smaller Public Enterprises Category 2005-06.
The award was received by Mr V.K. Agarwal, Managing Director, RITES from the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, at the Conference of Chief Executives of Public Sector Enterprises held on March 8, 2007 at New Delhi.
RITES was adjudicated by a pre-eminent jury led by Justice P.N.Bhagwati.The criteria for evaluation of performance of enterprises were business results of the company, leadership policy and strategy, customer satisfaction management, customer value management, corporate governance practices, operations management, HRD and employee contribution, new product development and quality management, environmental management systems and corporate social responsibility The Prime Minister called for rethinking and reorientation of functioning of Public Sector Enterprises and entrepreneurial skills of the highest order to meet the challenges of globalisation and competition in the unfolding business scenario.
TOP EXPORTERS Award from EEPC
RITES has received the "TOP EXPORTERS AWARD" from Engineering Export Promotion Council, (EEPC) in the category of exporter of Engineering Consultancy, technical know-how & other engineering services etc., for achieving higher export value during 2003-04. The award was received by Sh. Atul Sud, Executive Director (CS) from Shri. G.K. Pillai, Secretary to Govt. of India, Ministry of Commercer and Industry during the function organized by EEPC on 16 Oct. 2006.

 RITES gets First Ever ISO 9001Certification for Afghanistan Govt. Deptt.
RITES Ltd., has assisted in getting first evet ISO Certification for the Afghanistan Reconstruction & Development Services (ARDS), a procurement unit of Government of Afghanistan. RITES has been offering advisory and consultancy services, since December 2004, in providing procurement facilitation services to ARDS under World Bank funded Public Administration and Capacity Building Project facilitating rapid and transparent utilisation of donor resources for reconstruction and development.
It is a matter of great pride for Government as the first ISO 9001 Certification in Afghanistan has been granted to a public organization, involved in the vital area of channelising the donor resources for procurement of goods, works and services. This is also a reflection on the seriousness and dediction of the Government of Afghanistan for ensuring the most transparent, effective, responsive and efficient utilization of donor resources for the reconstruction and development of Afghanistan.
Mr. Farhadi, Director of ARDS while prising efforts of RITES in achieving this certification, stated that the Government of Afghanistan would like to put similar systems in place in other important areas of functioning of Government of Afghanistan as well as mobilize the private sector to go in for ISO-Certification in a big way
